Department of Gastroenterology

The Department of Gastroenterology at SIMS Health is dedicated to the diagnosis, treatment, and management of disorders affecting the digestive system, including the esophagus, stomach, intestines, liver, pancreas, and biliary tract. Since its establishment in 2016, the department has grown into a specialized unit that combines clinical expertise with advanced diagnostic and therapeutic technologies. Patients with conditions such as gastritis, acid reflux, irritable bowel syndrome (IBS), liver disorders, pancreatitis, and inflammatory bowel diseases receive tailored care based on a thorough evaluation and evidence-based protocols. The department operates an active Outpatient Unit every Tuesday and Wednesday, supported by a fully functional Endoscopy suite. A wide range of diagnostic and interventional procedures are performed regularly, including Upper GI Endoscopy, Colonoscopy, Sigmoidoscopy, EVL (Endoscopic Variceal Ligation), EST (Endoscopic Sphincterotomy), Gastro Ascitic Tap, and Proctoscopy. With a focus on early detection, accurate diagnosis, and minimally invasive treatments, the Gastroenterology department at SIMS Health provides patients with a clear path to recovery and long-term digestive wellness.
